Position Summary

North Star Vascular and Interventional is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial oversight for a multi-entity healthcare organization, including clinical operations, management services, and research activities.

This role provides comprehensive financial leadership across budgeting, reporting, and coordination with external accounting partners—ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness across all financial operations.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight & Operations

  • Manage relationships with banking institutions and financial service providers
  • Oversee cash flow, liquidity planning, and credit facilities
  • Supervise vendor disbursements and corporate payment systems
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard organizational assets

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee external accounting firm performance and deliverables
  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and reconciliations
  • Maintain cost allocation methodologies across multiple entities
  • Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Review and validate financial statements (P&L, balance sheet)
  • Prepare cash flow analyses and operational performance reports
  • Analyze departmental performance, cost structures, and ROI
  • Provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead development of annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Monitor performance against budget and analyze variances
  • Develop financial models and proformas to support strategic initiatives

Insurance & Risk Management

  • Coordinate insurance coverage (malpractice, D&O, cyber liability, general business)
  • Oversee policy renewals and conduct coverage evaluations
  • Serve as liaison with insurance brokers and advisors

Revenue & Operational Finance

  • Monitor non-clinical accounts receivable and related activity
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle management partners
  • Track revenue from consulting, research, and educational services

Physician & Partner Financial Management

  • Oversee provider compensation distributions and allocations
  • Track development funds, CME allowances, and related accounts

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Coordinate with external tax advisors for planning and compliance
  • Ensure proper documentation for tax-related matters, including credits and deductions

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive financial management experience, including Controller-level responsibility
  • Healthcare experience required, preferably in physician practice or multi-entity environments
  • Experience managing outsourced accounting functions
  • Strong financial analysis, modeling, and reporting skills
  • Multi-entity experience strongly preferred
  • CPA designation not required
